Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use SafeGround.
General information only, not legal advice.
Who we are
SafeGround is provided by Federico Vidili, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@safeground-co.com. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
General information only
SafeGround provides general preparedness information for households in the UK. It is not official government advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from the emergency services, your local authority or a healthcare professional.
In an emergency, call 999 or 112. For non-emergency police matters call 101. For NHS advice call 111.
Using the app
The core app is free. Some features are available through an optional one-time purchase, Safeground Pro. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not attempt to disrupt the app, interfere with other users, copy it for resale, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
If you create an account, keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
Safeground Pro purchases
Safeground Pro is a one-time payment with no subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we never see or hold your card details.
Access to Pro starts immediately after your payment is confirmed. If Pro is not what you expected, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@safeground-co.com.
By completing the purchase, you agree that access to Pro starts immediately, so the standard 14-day right to cancel digital content does not apply — the refund arrangement above still does.
Your responsibilities
Preparedness depends on your own circumstances. Use your judgement, follow current official guidance, and check any figures or advice against an official source before relying on it. Never put yourself or others at risk to follow something you have read in the app.
Where the app suggests practice activities, only carry them out in safe conditions and within your own ability. Children should only take part with adult supervision.
Calculators and estimates
The water and food calculators give planning estimates, not exact requirements. They are based on widely used UK planning assumptions, such as three litres of drinking water per person per day. Your actual needs may be higher — for example in hot weather, during strenuous activity, in pregnancy, or if someone is unwell.
Maps, warnings and live information
The Emergency Map shows weather information from a public forecast service and flood warnings published by the Environment Agency. Flood warnings currently cover England only. This information is provided for general awareness; it is not an official warning service and it may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable.
Always rely on official sources in an emergency, such as the Met Office, the Environment Agency, your local authority, and alerts sent by the emergency services.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error free, or available offline. Features may change, and the app may be withdrawn at any time. If you rely on the app for planning, keep a written copy of your plan.
We may update these terms as the app changes. The latest version will always be available here, and continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
Our responsibility to you
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app, including any loss of data stored on your device.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
